War Stories

My First Away Team

Your humble webmaster is beginning not only to fall behind on the recording and the listening, but of the keeping track of how many audio tracks some of the people, such as this commentator, have submitted.

Description:

Having finished with the unaired episodes I decided to pick from the remaining episodes with no BDC.com commentary. I was all set to do Shindig, but then came across another alternative commentary site which seems ready to post their own Shindig commentary. With any luck those guys will allow BDC to link to their track, but if not Shindig will probably be next on my agenda.

The track was recorded through Goldwave with a cheap Game brand microphone. The episode was played using RealPlayer. I think I managed to reduce the muffled episode audio to the point where it's practically inaudible. Hopefully I'll have a new mic for the next episode.

Note: You will be prompted to start the episode with a countdown during the commentary's introduction.

Good work, Stu. Thanks for the shout out. I hadn't thought of Niska as a cliched villain before, but now that you mention it, I think all he's missing is a big moustache to twist between his fingers. :)
Since I'm going through the episodes in the order they're listed on the discs, I seem to be right alongside most other submissions. First The Train Job and now Shindig. Oh well, I don't let that stop me and neither should you. Always a good listen and I hope to hear more soon.

You're welcome :) I think by now we've all realised there's going to be a fair bit of crossover between commentaries, so I suppose it's better to embrace it than try and avoid it.

As for doing the eps in order, I think you were just unlucky that Al, Bill and David decided to start with Shindig. You're a couple of eps ahead of the Firefly Experience now, so I don't think we should be seeing too many double posts in the near future. Looks like I have a difficult choice now: take on Jaynestown, which I haven't watched that much, or risk embarassing myself on the revered Out Of Gas or Objects ;)

I'm doing Jaynestown!!! ...as soon as I get back my DVDs, that is.

Great commentary, Grounded. Keep it up!

Don't worry WK, I won't step on your toes this time ;)

Now...heads Out Of Gas, tails Objects In Space...

Re: muffled soundtrack. I prefer being able to hear the soundtrack in the background. It's about the only way to be sure that I'm in synch. I hate getting out of synch.

Ideally I'd have a quiet-but-not-muffled soundtrack in the background, but a) that would be more work! and b) technically I don't think it's legal :o
